Mental Models — They are the superstructure of human intelligence and are representations of external reality. These internal representations are approximations due to shortcomings in the mental process. Natural language is a common way people express their mental models (narratives). The opposite of human mental models are natural phenomena, which “just are,” with no human interpretation.
Shortcomings — Human mental models (narratives) inherently contain cognitive biases, logical fallacies, simplified auto-response and other limitations. This is why LLMs hallucinate and deceive, since they are fueled by narratives. LLMs are built on both the "good and the bad" that are inherent in people’s mental models.
Intelligent actions — The more people’s mental models are in sync with reality, the more intelligence they use when taking actions. For example, Charlie Munger made billions and taught others how to be a billionaire by first being aware of the shortcomings and then syncing one’s mental models with real-world data (reality). This approach is applicable to all human endeavors.
